  1. Use the right toothbrush: Choose a soft-bristle toothbrush that is comfortable to hold and has a small head that can reach all areas of your mouth.

  2. Apply toothpaste: Squeeze a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste onto your toothbrush. Fluoride helps strengthen your tooth enamel and prevent tooth decay.

  3. Position your toothbrush: Hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to your gums. The bristles should touch both your teeth and gums.

  4. Brush in small, gentle circles: Move the toothbrush in small circular motions, gently brushing the outer and inner surfaces of your teeth. Use light pressure to avoid gum irritation.

  5. Clean all tooth surfaces: Brush each tooth individually, paying attention to the front, back, and chewing surfaces. Remember to also brush your tongue to remove bacteria and freshen your breath.

  6. Brush your gums: Gently brush along the gumline to remove plaque and debris. This helps prevent gum disease and keeps your gums healthy.

  7. Brush for two minutes: Brush your teeth for at least two minutes each time. You can divide your mouth into quadrants and spend 30 seconds on each section.

  8. Don't forget the back teeth: Many people overlook the back teeth (molars). Make sure to reach all the way to the back of your mouth and clean those teeth thoroughly.

  9. Rinse and clean your toothbrush: After brushing, rinse your mouth with water to remove any leftover toothpaste and debris. Then, rinse your toothbrush thoroughly and store it upright to air dry.

  10. Brush twice a day: Brush your teeth at least twice a day, ideally in the morning and before bed. This helps remove plaque and bacteria that accumulate throughout the day.

Remember to use gentle, circular motions and avoid brushing too hard, as it can damage your tooth enamel and irritate your gums. If you have any specific concerns or questions about your brushing technique, consult your dentist or dental hygienist for personalized advice.
